Achieving change in EU development and humanitarian aid policies so that they respond better to the needs of people living in poverty and affected by disasters.

Advocacy has always been one of the key purposes of the EU-CORD network. We recognise that EU programmes and policy have a much bigger impact on poverty and disasters than the work of members alone. Attempting to ensure that these are implemented effectively, sustainably and in line with good practice is a key path to impacting people living in poverty and affected by disasters.

Four representatives from EU-CORD recently attended the European Commission (EC) Informal Stakeholders meeting on TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training). The meeting was organised by DG DEVCO with the main purpose of sharing information about what are the current needs and challenges and hearing responses from Member States, NGOs and the private sector.
