Tear believes in the power of the local church in the fight against poverty and injustice. Working together with churches we can transform people’s lives all over the world.
Tear’s partners work with the most vulnerable people in their communities, helping them to become more empowered, without distinction on grounds of ethnic origin, religion, gender or political conviction.
Tear’s work focuses on two core themes: HIV and Aids and Environmental Sustainability. The projects implemented should ideally address the social, economic, physical and spiritual needs of people in an integrated manner.
Tear also challenges Christians in the Netherlands to consider their lifestyles and how they affect the poor. By connecting churches in the Netherlands and in the South, Tear promotes a mutual process of learning and encouragement.
Acting in the conviction that God’s purpose is the salvation and restoration of the whole person, with a desire to follow Jesus Christ and in the power of the Holy Spirit, Tear works in the hopeful expectation of God’s kingdom, which will be fully manifested in a new heaven and a new earth free of poverty and injustice.
Working with local churches we can change people’s lives all over the world and achieve a lasting impact on poverty and injustice.
