About the Conference

After five years of implementation, the Joint Initiative for Strategic Religious Action (JISRA) is coming to its conclusion. To mark this milestone, JISRA is hosting an international conference entitled “Securing Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) through an Inclusive Peacebuilding Approach.”

This full-day event will bring together participants from JISRA countries, policymakers, practitioners, academics, and funding organisations to celebrate achievements and share lessons learned. The conference will explore the role of religious actors in peacebuilding, demonstrate how FoRB for all is essential to building lasting peace, and identify concrete policy recommendations for future programming.

About JISRA

The JISRA consortium is coordinated by four international partners:

  • Mensen met een Missie (lead organisation)
  • Faith to Action Network
  • Search for Common Ground
  • Tearfund UK & Tearfund Netherlands

We are pleased to note that Tearfund Netherlands is a member of the EU-CORD network, contributing to JISRA’s mission of promoting inclusive peacebuilding and strengthening Freedom of Religion or Belief around the world.

The consortium is supported by the Network of Religious and Traditional Peacemakers and works in partnership with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Over the past five years, JISRA has united more than 50 civil society organisations across Ethiopia, Indonesia, Iraq, Kenya, Mali, Uganda, and Nigeria, fostering collaboration to build peaceful and just societies where everyone can freely live out their beliefs.
