We live in a time filled with multi-faceted, compounding global challenges, which means that more people live in poverty, facing humanitarian crises and lacking access to human development care than ever before. With massive funding cuts from USAID, the EU, and other donors, can we afford to use the human rights-based approach to advocacy when the needs-based approach could bring more immediate results? The webinar will tackle, amongst others, questions such as:

  1. What is the premise of needs-based advocacy?
  1. Why has the human rights-based approach been recommended as the best approach?
  1. Isn’t the human rights-based approach dangerous if you work in a hostile environment?

Building on the 2024 Autumn Advocacy Forum, which focused on locally led advocacy, this three-part webinar series aims to dive deeper into how to operationalise different aspects of advocacy. Structured like a Masterclass, each webinar will focus on an expert on the topic, providing practical tools and expertise to enhance your advocacy and lobbying work. At the end of each webinar, a template will be provided to help you put the knowledge into action.
