In a series of four meetings throughout 2026, we invite anyone interested in exploring climate issues through the lens of faith to join an open conversation. These gatherings provide a space for shared learning, discussion, and connection.
Spotlight on Education
Education on the Frontlines of Climate Change
Education is a vital tool for strengthening climate change adaptation and supporting the conservation of biodiversity and ecosystems. Yet, it is increasingly under threat from climate impacts—schools are used as shelters, become inaccessible due to flooding, or become unaffordable for families facing food insecurity.
How can we ensure continuity of learning in the face of these challenges?
In this session, Rahul Kanti Barua (Strømme Foundation Bangladesh) will share how education programmes are integrating climate adaptation strategies to support children in climate-affected communities, drawing on field-based evidence and visual materials.
Brenda Akinyi Okongo (Dorcas Kenya) will present a climate change project involving schools in Moyale, Marsabit County, highlighting how local initiatives are strengthening resilience and supporting learners in climate-affected settings.
Together, this session explores how education can remain resilient, inclusive, and central to climate action and justice.
