We are witnessing a regression with respect to commitments to climate justice. This includes countries withdrawing from the Paris Climate Agreement to watering down environmental regulations because they are perceived to hinder economic development and competitiveness. In other cases, a green economy is considered a luxury that Low and Middle-Income countries can’t afford. In this context, this webinar will examine how to use climate-related advocacy as a cross-cutting theme to achieve maximum impact. The webinar will tackle, amongst other questions:
- How can you convince your national governments that climate justice is relevant and not hindering development?
- What language can you use that positions climate justice as a cross-cutting theme that underpins your advocacy?
- Are there particular aspects that you should focus on when conducting advocacy towards external donors and institutions?
- How do you lobby Christian communities on climate justice when some believe that it is inevitable because it is ‘a sign of end times’?
Building on the 2024 Autumn Advocacy Forum, which focused on locally led advocacy, this three-part webinar series aims to dive deeper into how to operationalise different aspects of advocacy. Structured like a Masterclass, each webinar will focus on an expert on the topic, providing practical tools and expertise to enhance your advocacy and lobbying work. At the end of each webinar, a template will be provided to help you put the knowledge into action.
