In current times, the importance of the media for social activism cannot be underestimated. People can view content via traditional means such as radio and television and on their phones via YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X. Yet, these various avenues can also present their dangers if not used properly. In this webinar, we will delve into the importance of communication for advocacy and how you can use different forms of external communication to broadcast your advocacy messages effectively. The webinar will tackle, amongst others, questions such as:

  • Should CSOs use Tik Tok as a medium for campaigns?
  • Are newspapers, radio and other traditional media forms still relevant in this age?
  • How do you avoid misinformation and disinformation when aiming for impact?
  • How critical are graphics for reports, policy briefs or other formats?

Building on the 2024 Autumn Advocacy Forum, which focused on locally led advocacy, this three-part webinar series aims to dive deeper into how to operationalise different aspects of advocacy. Structured like a Masterclass, each webinar will focus on an expert on the topic, providing practical tools and expertise to enhance your advocacy and lobbying work. At the end of each webinar, a template will be provided to help you put the knowledge into action.
