Mission East

Mission East is an international relief and development organization founded in Denmark in 1991.

We provide emergency assistance after disasters, work to improve long-term living conditions for communities struggling with poverty and advocate for the inclusion of marginalised groups such as people with disabilities. We support communities’ capacities to organise and assist themselves, working directly with beneficiaries, or in partnership with local or international partners who share our goals.

Mission East is founded on Christian values and in all our work we strive to live out our ‘values in action’: honesty, integrity, compassion, respect for all people, and valuing the individual. Our programmes are funded by institutional donors, private foundations, churches and individual supporters.

Mission East has been certified as compliant with Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS) for both our relief and development programmes. We are a long-standing signatory of the Code of Conduct for Red Cross and Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) in Disaster Relief and apply SPHERE technical standards to our work wherever relevant.
